The Humble Data Workshop is for people who want to start a career in tech but don't know where to start. It's hard to take the first steps, but you don't have to do it on your own. Our workshop is for people who are completely new to Python and Data Science. You don't need to have written any code to join! The workshop is for people from underrepresented groups. It is a fun, supportive workshop. It will give the participants the confidence to get started in this exciting area. The workshop will have lots of exercises and inspiring talks from people who were in the same situation as the participants. The workshop will teach you the basics of programming in Python, as well as useful libraries and tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, and Matplotlib. In this workshop, you will work through a series of easy materials at your own speed. Participants will work in small groups, with an assigned mentor to help them with any questions or whenever they get stuck. All you need to bring is a laptop that can connect to the internet and a willingness to learn! The most important thing people will learn is to feel more confident about working with data in Python and using some of the most important data science tools: Jupyter, Pandas and visualization libraries.
