Hi everyone, I’m Dor Hanegby.

I’ve been leading the backend engineering team at Fido for almost three years now. Before joining Fido, I worked on various engineering projects that helped scale tech infrastructures across industries, gaining a passion for efficient system designs and building strong engineering teams. At Fido, I get to apply those skills to something deeply meaningful—bringing financial inclusion to underserved communities across Africa. Our growth has been rapid, with 20,000 new users signing up each month, and as you can imagine, keeping things running smoothly at that scale requires some serious backend magic. Python’s Asyncio has been one of the key tools in our arsenal—working tirelessly to ensure everything stays on track as we continue to expand.

When I’m not coding or optimizing systems, I’m out running or playing tennis—activities that help keep my mind as agile as our systems need to be. I’m really excited to share how we’re using cutting-edge tech to support financial inclusion, and I look forward to learning from the collective wisdom in the room today
